“A Living Hope: Holding On When Life Falls Apart” - 9am Traditional Eucharist

Apr 12, 2026

This sermon draws on Viktor Frankl’s experience to show that enduring suffering requires meaning and hope, connecting that idea to the message of 1 Peter and the Christian life . It explains that human hearts are created with deep longings, and hope is the driving force that seeks to fulfill those longings, but worldly hope is fragile because it depends on uncertain circumstances. In contrast, Christian hope is a “living hope” rooted in Jesus, who holds onto us rather than depending on our ability to hold onto Him. This living hope does not remove suffering but gives it purpose, as God uses trials to shape, refine, and prepare believers for glory.
